Fog and Ice

In winter there is no heat, no light, no noon, evening touches morning, there is fog, and mist,

the window is frosted, and you cannot see clearly.  The sky is but the mouth of a cave.  The whole day is the cave.  The sun has the appearance of a pauper.

Frightful season!  Winter changes into stone the water of heaven and the heart of man.

    1. We have had a fog advisory for three days, but I think it will finally be gone later today. It’s too much to hope for sunshine, so I’ll hope for a Packers win!!

    1. It’s hard to call this winter now that all the snow has melted, but after the ice storm and four days of fog, his words perfectly described the scene.

  4. winter is one of the most beautiful seasons I have recently realized, despite the bleak nature of it! The mist, the snow, the frost.. all leaves their mark on the landscape and can create truly special landscapes.

    1. There is a special quality to winter that not only includes its bleak nature, but also a peaceful solitude that allows you to appreciate the silence of scenes that are often bustling in the other seasons.
