A Swan High Five

When I walk through a library or a bookstore, I always touch the books that I’ve read.  It is my way of giving my favorite characters a high five.

    1. Thank you! Over the weekend I finished the latest book of one of my favorite characters and this quote made me smile when I added the book to my overflowing bookshelves.

  2. A swan is the most beautiful bird, our national bird in Finland. During March first ones arrive to their own places every year.

    1. Thank you for sharing the information about Finland’s national bird. These beautiful birds have been one of my favorites to photograph over the years and we have a large group that remain on the lake throughout the year since there is usually at least one spot with open water. We have one troublemaker in the group and each spring we wait to see if he is still with the group.

    1. The swans are back to making their daily visits and while I prefer capturing their beautiful expressions, there is something about these shots and their feet flapping around that always makes me smile. They must be hungry after a long winter because I seem to be getting as many shots of the feet as the head. I enjoyed your comment and hope you have a good week!

  4. The photos raised a smile! As did the quote about high-fiving a favourite book character. Next time I’m at the library, I’ll see if the librarian frowns at me for high-fiving…

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed this and your comment made me laugh. What a great way to express the joy of reading, although you probably will receive a frown from the librarian.
