One Last Frolic In The Snow

There’s one good thing about snow, it makes your lawn look as nice as your neighbor’s.

  1. Love the quote… so true!
Mr Squirrel has the cutest red belly!

    1. I love the quote, but this year our yard even looked worse than the neighbor’s during winter due to all the branches on the ground. The squirrel was forgiven again for spilling all the peanuts on the ground when he looked so adorable with a little snow on his nose and belly!

    1. I often joke or complain about winter, but there is a special beauty and solitude about the season that I enjoy.

      1. complete solitude; and the transformation of water into snow as well as the mist is really special.

    1. Thank you! The birds and squirrels were busy enjoying the last week of winter and while I have enjoyed taking photos of the squirrels, Gabby has made it known rather loudly that it is unacceptable.

  3. I thoroughly enjoyed this “one last frolic in the snow,” ACI. Your photos, each one, are so beautifully expressive of each creature. The quote made me laugh. And I especially loved your capture of the upside-down nuthatch — you captured the true essence of this acrobatic bird.

    1. Thank you! It was another fun week of chasing birds around the yard in the cold and snow. I’m looking forward to the first warm day when I can chase after them in the kayak.

  4. Ha, love the quote! Nice series, esp. love the upside down nuthatch – a true pose one often sees with these industrious birds.

    1. Thank you very much! The nuthatches and chickadees like the location of the new bird feeder and are giving me ample opportunity to take many photos.
