    Wow, great shots, esp. the lifted epaulet on the red-wing. I didn’t know they separated from the wing.

      Thank you! I’m not sure if he was showing off his wings for the other birds in the area or trying to hide from me, but he went through a whole routine of extending and moving his wings.
