The camera is like a friend and you can go places and feel like you’re with someone, like you have a companion.

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Usually when a hawk spots me in the backyard they immediately fly away, but this one stayed in one area for over an hour.๐Ÿ™‚

  2. What kind of hawk? Do you know? I’m afraid that when it comes to hawks, I’m not very good at identifying them.

    1. This is a Cooperโ€™s hawk that I first spotted in the yard sitting on top of the bird feeder. He stayed in the yard so long that at one point I thought the three other hawks circling the yard were looking for him.๐Ÿ˜

    1. It was so much fun watching him, even in the bitter cold.๐Ÿ™‚ I keep looking for him, but so far he has not returned.

      1. this might sound cruel but if you have a basement or barn with a mouse problem put a trap out.Once dispatched, put it on a post.Keep a eye out for activity.Even If you miss it being taken,It’ll come back to that spot to check for more.I bet any Owl’s around would be pleased as punch for a winters snack as well. They need more caloric food in the winter. The cold demands more energy to keep warm & so more food.

      2. Over the last couple of weeks, I have heard an owl at night and would love to bribe him to visit. Any chance I could convince them they might like peanuts? Iโ€™m not a fan of dealing with mice, so Iโ€™m just going to hope that the hawk is telling everyone in the neighborhood how much fun it was to hang out with me.๐Ÿ˜

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ I know what you mean, I was so glad to see that the family of deer that visit regularly made it through the season.๐Ÿ™‚

  7. That’s the same kind of hawk that’s been hanging out at my “feeder.” Great shots and a nice quote.

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ He kept looking at the bird feeder, but all the birds disappeared when he arrived. I eventually was surprised to see a group of chickadees return and land in the branches right above him.

  8. Wonderful pictures and perfect quote. My camera has certainly been a charming companion to me in tough times. It stares at me sometimes and urges me out of the house if I’ve not taken any photos for a day or two.
