Don’t Double Dog Dare Me

So don’t double dog dare me now

Cause I’d have to call your bluff

I ain’t as good as I once was

But I’m as good once as I ever was

    1. Thank you and I think he enjoys having his photo taken almost as much as the peanuts.😁

  3. Really fun post, and excellent photos, ACI. Beautiful red squirrel you have in MI. We don’t have this species in CA, beautiful.

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ I’m glad you enjoyed our adorable red squirrel, which is the only squirrel that stays at the bird feeder when I arrive and looks happy that I joined him for lunch!😁

    1. All the other squirrels have been out of control this winter and it was so nice to have him stop by again.πŸ™‚

      1. I see their caches dug up in the woods a lot, but not at the feeder as much.

      2. They were busy digging all over the yard during our too brief spell without snow on the ground.πŸ™‚

      1. It’s really a very nice feeling when animals and birds become comfortable in your presence. It’s summer here in India and it’s really hot. So I have kept a small water bowl for the birds, but so far they are not using it. I have kept it in as secluded a spot as I can find in my front yard, but I guess the birds are still scared. I hope it changes though and they start coming for the water. πŸ™‚

      2. I always enjoy when there is a backyard visitor that is a little curious and stays and watches while I’m in the yard with them. I’ve always found that the birds find the peanuts much quicker than the water.πŸ™‚

      3. I thought about leaving some food too, but one thing that worries me a bit is whether the birds, those who visit, will start expecting there will be food everyday. When I am not home, which is quite often, there will be nobody to refill. Maybe it’s an unwarranted worry. I am going to take your advice and leave some peanuts and other small tidbits around. Maybe they will start coming for the water when they see the food. πŸ™‚

      4. The birds seem to have their feeding routes and schedules and now as soon as I go outside the birds will fly to the tree with the bird feeder and let me know the peanuts are gone.πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ He definitely knows it and has told the other squirrels that he’s my favorite and that I never shoo him away from the bird feeder.😁
