The Week In Seven Photos

The week began with the ice on the lakes holding nature hostage from the beautiful flow of water, but

as the week progressed there was a joyous celebration occurring on the lakes. ย With the days beginning with temperatures in the twenties, the wildlife were thrilled to have the lakes and parks mostly to themselves. ย There were swans enjoying quite moments of reflection

and others taking an extended glorious bath after a long, long winter on the ice.

The birds were everywhere, walking along the boardwalk, across the paths, watching the first waves roll in and

dipping their toes into the water.

Those not invited to the lake party were basking in the sunย

and relaxing on the deck enjoying snacks during three consecutive days of sunshine.

I’m hoping for more time by the water this weekend in between watching Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies during the opening weekend of baseball, the Tottenham match against Liverpool and hopefully cheering the Michigan State Spartans to wins in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight.

  1. Wonderful pictures! And no ice on the water. Ours won’t be gone until mid-April or so.

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Itโ€™s wonderful to see the water again and the birds were thrilled. Someone was out kayaking last night and I hope to have mine in the water next week.๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ This week captured a few of the things I love about early spring, watching the ice disappear and seeing the chipmunks on the deck every morning.๐Ÿ™‚

  5. The chipmunk – excellent! Youโ€™ll be kayaking soon enough, and itโ€™s about time winter gave up and let spring in. Weโ€™ve had some glorious spring sun this week, and if it holds, maybe weโ€™ll get the kayaks into the water this weekend…
I hope your teams do well this weekend (except for Spurs – I want the Liverpool/Man City title race to remain as tight as possible, right to the last game!)
    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ I have no idea why I have an attitude against Man City, but Iโ€™m hoping for a Harry Kane Goal in a close loss to Liverpool. Michigan State will be playing Duke in the Elite 8 on Sunday and itโ€™s going to be a stressful sports day, but Iโ€™m hoping for a great game and win by MSU. Iโ€™m also hoping for a few home runs by Harper that day too!!๐Ÿ˜ We have rain and snow today, so no kayaking, but I hope you have a chance to be out on the water. If not, The Highwaymen (Kevin Costner/Woody Harrelson) on Netflix was very good. Enjoy the weekend and kayaking!!๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Iโ€™m hoping for another close game with Duke, except this time a last second 3-point winning shot by Cassius Winston for a MSU victory!!๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Itโ€™s been an exciting first year following the Premier League. Still trying to figure out the different leagues and game schedules. I was disappointed I missed the first half of Man United yesterday, but then I wished I had missed the rest of the match.๐Ÿ˜
