Nature’s Musings During A Hot And Humid Weekend

It’s so steamy and soggy, I’ll be here until Thursday trying to dry out my wings!

Hot…water…oppressive…water…

more water, more water!!

The air is so stagnant, I can’t even get lift off!

Dad, leave us alone, we’re too tired and the water is too warm and mucky for swimming lessons today!

Don’t you dare let that dog chase me away from my perfect spot in the shade!

    1. Thank you!!๐Ÿ˜ As much as I dislike this hot and humid weather, I rarely capture photos of all the rabbits hopping around and I had to appreciate the weather for a very brief moment when I was thrilled to find the rabbit sprawled in the shade.๐Ÿ˜

  2. The past few days have been hot and humid in Maine, too. Now, the weather is perfect. Love how you captured the animals in their attempt to chill.

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ After that absolutely awful week of weather weโ€™ve been rewarded with a great week to enjoy the outdoors. The humidity has been horrible this summer (dew point actually hit 80 a few times) and I hope things change in August.๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Can’t “like” this. Maine has had its share of horribly hot and humid days. That has been the trend lately in the summer. Very different from when I was young and Maine was the place to be in the summer. There was even an editorial in a local paper about how summers have changed.

      3. Sure have! So far, we have had six stinking hot days. In the past, we only had one or two and never that hot. Yikes!

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™ve never had to refill all the water bowls and birdbaths so often as this summer and everyone is celebrating the end to the heat wave today!๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Fun photos and captions! My brother is down on the WV/Maryland border, and heโ€™s been saying itโ€™s so hot and humid there. He spent the weekend at a lake, floating about on his sit on top. Not too bad, if he took a big hat, a sun shade and factor 100!
Hope you get a drop in the humidity levels…

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™m hoping a few days of great weather will help me forget the horrible heat wave, but so far I think my relationship with summer is officially beyond repair!๐Ÿ˜

  7. Phewww sounds hot and sticky. We are finally celebrating a few summery days in Yorkshire at last. Nice to see a bunny amongst your visitors ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. The bunny has been a regular visitor with the squirrels at the bird feeders this summer and it looked so cute laying under the tree. We were lucky and did not lose power, but the horrible weather included several storms that left 600,000 without power over the weekend during the heat wave. After last week, I would be happy to swap summer for an extra season of winter!!โ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ๐Ÿ˜
