Weekend Watching

The plan for the weekend was to stay home watching football, one of my favorite sports programs, ESPN College GameDay and the backyard visitors, but

when I heard there would be another group of my favorite guys in town, men in kilts,

I had to attend the Renaissance Festival.  There was an opportunity to watch a wonderful assortment of people in fabulous outfits and costumes enjoying a superb summer day at the Highland Fling themed weekend.

There was so much to see and experience, including knights and fairies,

unicorns,

and the Flint Scottish

Pipe Band.

This entertaining and unique festival ushers in autumn every year in our area and each day I’m watching little signs of fall creeping into the landscape.

    1. No cricket, but I’m sure I would become a cricket fan if they wore kilts!😁

    1. I enjoy many of our summer art festivals, but the Renaissance Festival is in a class by itself!😁

    1. Our weather has been so wonderful that I’ve actually had many nice things to say about summer lately and have temporarily stopped my autumn countdown.😁 It’s a great festival that has been going strong for forty years with fabulous crowds and wonderful themed weekends and if it wasn’t for my football addiction, I would have to return to see the colorful characters at the Shamrocks & Shenanigans weekend!😁
