CIMPLE – A Curious Introvert's Musings & Photos about Life and Enjoyment

I’ve discovered over the years that while I often agree with the quote “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results,” sometimes I understand the need to embrace the insanity, even if it’s rooted in childhood.  Recently I embraced the insane idea to watch another sad dog movie, The Art Of Racing In The Rain, after I’ve sworn off those movies for years as I do not recover as quickly from long bouts of tears as I did in my younger days.  My mother, who consoled me often during childhood after watching Old Yeller and Lassie, reminded me that this was not a good idea and that I could not handle it any better then I did as a child.  I immediately reminded her that Kevin Costner, who we love, is the voice of the dog and at this age I might be able to keep the tears at bay.  After further analysis, the quote is absolutely true and should not be trifled with just because of Kevin Costner and now I need to wear sunglasses for the next month to cover these puffy eyes (five stars for the movie and I was crying too much to enjoy the perfectly named cider).
