Monday Musings

Years ago, if someone had asked me if I wanted to run a winter turkey farm my reaction would have been similar to being asked if I wanted to watch professional wrestling (no, not really my thing). ย Circumstances can change and when I watched Dwayne “The Rock”ย Johnson for the first time, I instantly became a WWE wrestling fan (until he retired).

The turkeys have been so social and entertaining to watch this year that I’m becoming a little fond of them (no, not fond enough to call you The Rock).

It did not take long before the The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin and D-Generation X also became favorites and their high flying moves were as entertaining to watch as the turkeys flying through the woods.

One of my favorite moves of The Rock was The Rock Bottom and, of course, the turkeys misunderstood the meaning, but gave me their version of the turkey bottom

after a perfect landing.

Whatever you do though, don’t use The Rock’s catchphrase if you smell what The Rock is cookin’ around them, it always ruffles their feathers.ย

  1. Fabulous, fabulous pictures of those flying turkeys. I was especially taken with the blue faces, which I didn’t realize they had.

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Their heads change colors based on their mood and they are always excited after flying in for breakfast.๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Turkeys! I know nothing of his wrestling days, but Iโ€™m glad DJ switched to movies. He is a natural on screen, and improves whatever he appears in. I still havenโ€™t seen his F and F spin-off movie with Jason Statham – I know it will be ridiculous fun with these two!

    1. He was fabulous on WWE and I still tune in when he makes special appearances!!๐Ÿ˜ Probably not a surprise that I have seen Hobbs & Shaw a few times and that I lost track years ago of how many times I have watched Fast Five and The Rundown (surprisingly I only watched Baywatch once or twice)!!๐Ÿ˜

      1. I will make time for Hobbs and Shaw this week – go baldies! Hmm, Iโ€™d forgotten about Baywatch, it was terrible, although I still laughed out loud a couple of times…but definitely a low point for Dwayne.

      2. Somewhere The Rock is giving you the Peopleโ€™s Eyebrow for the โ€œterribleโ€ remark!๐Ÿ˜

  3. Awesome turkey shots. ๐Ÿ™‚
And if you’re missing Dwayne Johnson you could always watch the movie Jumanji, Welcome to the Jungle. I saw it the other day and it was great fun! ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Turkey’s are so beautiful, and never ever on any menu I cook. Wonderful photos. The closest I ever got to following wrestling was the 4pm slot on UKs World of Sport from back in the day. Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks ( seriously) and Kendo Nagasaki.

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ˜ Back when I watched wrestling they had some great personalities in addition to The Rock and I still tune in now and again hoping to find great entertainers, but it appears it will be only the turkeys entertaining me.๐Ÿ˜
