The Week In Seven Photos

Over the last week we have transitioned again and are now practicing aggressive social distancing and visits to the park are a thing of the past for the near future.

I thought following the recommendations and maintaining that six foot distance would leave me with a little sense of safety, but as our state rapidly became a hotspot I began to feel like a deer in the headlights seeing others at the grocery store and park.

I wish I had consulted with the squirrels, who still have a supply of cones remaining after winter, about my stockpile strategy. Β Grocery delivery is a week away and I’m in desperate need to refill my stash of M&M’s (trust me, M&M’s are essential in my food pyramid).

I’ve always tried to use current photos on my blog, but between staying home, Netflix, watching the Cuomo brothers on CNN and Harper choosing a fine time to go on strike after our photo shoot earlier in the week, you may begin to see more photos from the library,Β whichΒ I have discovered is in much worse shape than I imagined.

While Harper and I try to adjust to another new reality, at least the weather has improved so we can finally stay outdoors in the yard

watching spring romance

and nature staying right on schedule while the rest of us feel lost.

  1. Love your photos, wherever and whenever they are from. πŸ˜€
We’ve only been in Lockdown one week here in SA, but are not allowed even to walk the dog! Only to get meds and food.
I totally agree that Chocolate is an essential food!! πŸ˜€
I went out for a quick shop yesterday, after staying home for 8 days. Once I’d filled my trolley with fresh foods and staples, I went in search of the chocolate! πŸ˜€
Hang in there and I hope you can replenish your essential chocolate stores soon. πŸ˜€

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ The grocery stores have been so crowded during the shutdown that I’m no longer comfortable going, but if those M&M’s don’t arrive soon I will have to rethink this strategy. I just read an article about a winery that is having their dog deliver the wine for curbside pickups and I wish we had a candy store offering that service. I’m glad you were able to replenish your supplies and enjoy the chocolate!πŸ™‚

  2. Oh, I feel for you. Yes, those M&M’s are essential! For me, it’s Rollos, and I just learned that a giant pack will be delivered today. Yay!!!! The coronavirus is taking a huge emotional toll on everyone. Some of my friends are troubled by insomnia. Perfectly understandable. Stay safe, be well, and don’t hesitate to share pictures from your library.

    1. Thank you and enjoy the Rollos!!πŸ™‚ The M&M’s withdrawal is getting worse and I’ve seen articles about people trying to barter items during this time and I’m almost ready to try and trade a few rolls of toilet paper for M&M’s.πŸ™‚

  3. I’m so glad you have Harper and backyard friends to help raise a smile for the next few weeks – months? – yikes. Here’s hoping the next grocery delivery is heavy on the M&Ms…
    Stay safe.

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ I have joined the group that believes we will be doing this for months and I’m afraid for those at a higher risk and their caretakers that social distancing will be required much longer. I’m not taking any chances with my M&M’s addiction and have ordered from several sources and may send Harper out throughout the neighborhood in her Halloween outfit with a note for M&M’s treats.πŸ™‚

  6. Thanks for your visit! I had to laugh out loud at your turtle yoga photo–I’ve seen them do that in northern Minnesota too.

  7. Love the deer picture. Everything comes to those who wait, don’t worry I’m sure M&Ms are on their way. Our local supermarket has a queue outside at two metre intervals and there are limited numbers allowed in. Everywhere’s so quiet, except a local beauty spot overlooked by my friend’s back window. She said the decent weather brought folk out. What are they thinking!

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ It’s a relief to have switched to grocery deliveries and I was thrilled to see my M&M’s arrive!! Our stores are finally limiting capacity and making things safer for everyone, but we will be staying away from stores for awhile.
