Harper is slowly taking control of the backyard and introducing herself to all our backyard visitors.  This week for the first time she

scared a deer off into the woods and luckily she is on a long leash or she would have been right on her heels.

I think having Baby Yoda as a new sidekick has increased her confidence

and has had me smiling all week.

Not only was Harper feeling more sociable this week, but the cormorant was willing to hang out with me for awhile

when I dragged myself away from binge-watching an old favorite tv series, Brothers and Sisters,

and, for just a moment, I thought the meanest swan on the lake was looking for a hug.
