The Week In Seven Photos

Let’s blame the following thoughts on the full moon this week, but I think some spirit slipped into my home this year and has hypnotized me into changing lifetime traits of my personality.

Just my luck, the spirit is an extroverted vegetarian insomniac. Β Those days of being a sound sleeper like Harper have been replaced with being wide awake at 3:00am,

with plenty of time to prepare for our sunrise photography outings,

and amazingly after a lifetime of avoiding vegetables, I’ve been choosing spinach for dinner while dreaming of ordering my favorite appetizer at a loud and crowded pub.

The spirit must also be a grinch because by this time of year my blog posts are usually filled with Christmas songs and decorations, but mentally it feels like I’m permanently stuck in March as I coast through the late fall Β and early winter days.

Thankfully the spirit was disinterested in sports and music and I can continue to celebrate the great seasons of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish andΒ Tottenham Spurs

and enjoy wonderful Bruce Springsteen albums and documentaries for Western StarsΒ andΒ Letter To YouΒ andΒ Springsteen on Broadway.

  1. You have my sympathies, insomnia is no fun, except maybe to the pets , who get kibble in the wee hours to snack on. πŸ˜‰

    1. I’m definitely hoping it’s temporary, but Harper loves the extra hours of playtime and snacks.🐾😁

  2. Love the colours in your photos πŸ˜€
It’s weird when one’s sleep routine changes – hopefully you’ll be back on a even keel soon. But the spinach does look good! πŸ˜€

    1. Thank you!!😁 I keep thinking with all this time at home without going to restaurants that I could actually turn into a cook and make my favorite appetizers, but somehow the very good frozen items keep ending up in the shopping cart.😁

  3. I chalk up it to the pandemic. It affects everyone, and it is a major event in our lives that we will never forget. Plus the leadership has been so terrible. It really is beyond comprehension, but hope is on the horizon with a new administration and a vaccine.

    1. Definitely not the time to make the days or this year any longer with insomnia, but it has given me plenty of time to think of all the things I miss and want to enjoy when the pandemic is under control.πŸ™‚

  4. I empathise – it’s a regular waking at 5am for me! I’m curious about the interest in Spurs. I followed in my father’s footsteps and was a Chelsea supporter for years but my boys and my brother have been forever Tottenham fans πŸ™‚

    1. I’ve always been a morning person, but never this early and I would prefer 5am! I became a Harry Kane fan after the last World Cup (which I’ve always enjoyed watching) and have been watching and following Tottenham since and enjoy watching the Premier League every weekend. I’m also a Jose Mourinho fan and hope they continue to stay at the top of the league table!πŸ™‚

  5. Beautiful photos, and spinach in cheese dip is the best! Maybe you could listen to Springsteen before going to bed……no wait you might want to jump around and dance. That won’t work. Try classical music instead.

    1. 😁Thank you and I love spinach artichoke dip!!😁 My music choices could definitely be affecting my sleep and I think Harper would actually prefer if I chose classical music at all hours of the day!!🐾😁

  6. It’s a slippery slope, starting with spinach, then you’ll be craving kale, making green smoothies after midnight…
Love the photos, although Harper looks a little unconvinced with the latest outfit? Wintry dawn photos are great, but I sympathize with you if you are up and out taking pictures due to insomnia – hope that passes!

    1. Thank you!😁 I do believe Harper wishes after that shot that the spirit would have removed my interest in watching sports and taking her photo and replaced it with more walks.🐾😁 The insomnia could be because the spirit has me deep in thought watching more documentaries and listening to podcasts and we really need the NHL to agree on a season quickly!! After this many years, I think it would be too much of a shock to my system to add more than one vegetable, so thankfully I chose one that makes a fabulous appetizer!!!😁

  7. Wonderful peaceful pictures but with you on the insomnia. Hope Spurs win the Premiership this year as it seems Man Utd won’t for a while.

      2. There might have been a little yelling over the late goal…Kane missing with a horrible header…Bergwijn hitting the post…Kane missing again…(happy to see Man Utd win today!!)😁
