Today’s Musings

Summer floated in this week

while chasing a bluebird at the park

and enjoying the spring flowers.

Amidst life’s swirling confusion, more close encounters with dog walkers on the paths that cause both of us to panic and watching our state be designated as the newest COVID-19 epicenter on the national news,

there was time for another great memoir, Every Day Is A Gift by Tammy Duckworth, and binge listening the great conversations between Bruce Springsteen and Barack Obama on the Spotify podcast Renegades: Born in the USA. It appears I’ll have more free time this weekend between watching baseball and hockey to begin Reese Witherspoon’s book club selection, Northern Spy by Flynn Berry, and watch the new movies Land and My Salinger Year.

  1. Sorry that the numbers are so high in Michigan. They are high in Maine, too, but not as high as in your state. Nevertheless, you have found so many pleasures, both inside and outside. Amazing how the human spirit can find comfort and beauty even in the most difficult times. May I link to this post for my Friday favorites?

    1. Thank you and happy to be included in your Friday favorites!πŸ™‚ I’ve loved what I have been reading, watching and listening to lately in between our walks in the park and it’s always fun to have the chance to chase bluebirds.πŸ™‚

      1. I must say that having my first Covid shot has made me feel a wee bit more secure. The second is in a week and then 2 weeks later, I imagine/hope I won’t be such a wreck in a store!

      2. I’m still very nervous after the first and hope after the second that I’ll finally feel comfortable outdoors on the paths without a mask.πŸ™‚

      3. My plan is to still wear a mask in public, distance and use hand cleaner for the foreseeable future. Maybe I’ll never get a common cold again!

      4. I’m the only one at the park with a mask and have continued walking on paths without other walkers and dogs (which Harper loves) where I don’t need to wear a mask. I would love to be to return to the regular paths without a mask and no longer deal with my glasses fogging up, but I don’t know when that comfort level will return.πŸ™‚

  4. Sorry to hear your figures are still so high. Hopefully when more vaccines are had, things will be safer at last. Sending happy thoughts.
