Imagine My Surprise

DSC_3254

Not only was it a surprise to walk around the corner and see this little guy visiting, but during a week of record-setting weather in the 70’s it was a surprise to find the holiday season in full bloom.  IMG_1415Waiting in line at the drive-thru and listening to T.N.T. by AC/DC on the radio, imagine my surprise when during the commercial break as I was flipping channels I heard Johnny Mathis singing It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year and in the next second the barista hands me my first Starbucks red holiday cup of the season.  I have to confess, once I realized our local radio station had switched to their holiday music format I quickly left AC/DC behind and was looking forward to hearing Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town by Bruce Springsteen and my holiday favorite, Elvis Presley.  IMG_1417If you are not ready to face the music, the holiday displays or wish to escape all the falling leaves, the new James Bond movie, Spectre, is at the theaters and very good.  I love Daniel Craig as Bond and while this was not quite as good as Skyfall and Casino Royale (pretty hard to compete with them when I thought both were perfect), there is nothing like escaping to a theater to see a Bond movie and spending a couple of hours with Daniel Craig (I wish Judi Dench could have joined us).  I have to go, Alvin and the Chipmunks are singing Gabby’s favorite, The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late), on the radio and Gabby wants to know why her friend won’t sing along.

  1. It’s too soon for Christmas music (but I do like the Bruce track!) Looking forward to Spectre.

    1. I keep thinking it’s too early for Christmas music the whole time I am listening, but somehow the enjoyment and memories the music evokes keeps me listening until the end of the year (even the eye-rolling from others in the family does not discourage me). Hope you enjoy the movie.
