An Autumn Week

In a blink of an eye while wandering through an autumn week, the holidays changed when pumpkins were quietly removed and magically my white chocolate mocha arrived in the new Starbucks holiday green cup as the local radio station started playing Christmas music.  It seems the Chicago Cubs ending their 108 year World Series drought was not the only shock of the week.  Other things have remained the same, the family of swans are still swimming together, the blue jays and red-bellied woodpecker have been heard, but have refused photographs and two swans are refusing to come up for air until the election is over.  Summer-like weather returned for a day and many of the beautiful fall leaves, which began the week bursting with color, have now deserted their branches and lay in a muted swath under the scampering squirrels and trio of visiting deer.
