Seen From The Trail

The weekend greeted us with blue skies and a new trail to explore.  The winding four mile trail led us through woods slowly awakening from the winter slumber and animals taking a peek at their visitors.  One section of the trail offered a wonderful view of a lake and a chance to watch the sandhill cranes.  All shots were taken from the trail, since the only downside of this trail is that it runs through a rattlesnake habitat and thankfully they have not yet emerged this spring (that’s what I was telling myself every step of the way).

  1. What a delightful trail, ACI. Great photos and so much wildlife. Especially like the sandhill crane in flight…you captured the beauty well.

    1. Thank you! We originally chose this trail because we had heard there was a barred owl by the lake, but instead of seeing the owl we encountered this wonderful crew. There were four sandhill cranes by the lake and they were thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

    1. Thank you and I enjoyed the signs of spring and the trail! We plan on returning and I will continue to hope for no snakes, because if one is ever spotted there will not be a return visit.

    1. Thank you! I have had a few days lately where I wished I was on vacation someplace new, but then days like this spent enjoying and photographing the beauty of nature provide a much needed attitude adjustment.
