      It’s unlikely that I will forget my encounter with these adorable ducks. Usually when I’m kayaking the ducks immediately fly away, but these two headed right toward my area. I was preoccupied with my first chance at photographing a green heron and did not notice their curiosity until I glanced in their direction to only discover them right next to my kayak. After all this time of working to get close to the birds for a shot, I was so stunned to be staring right into their eyes that by the time I thought to grab my camera they were swimming away.🙂

        How neat! They were probably hoping for hand-outs. Many mallards have become habituated to humans, which probably isn’t in their best interests.
