Movie of the Day: The Union (Mark Wahlberg & Halle Berry – Netflix)
Thank you!๐ Iโve loved action and romantic comedy movies since my teenage years and refuse to give up on the genres. Thankfully I continue to ignore any bad reviews, because this was another one I enjoyed, especially the combination of Wahlberg and Berry. They may never make the lifelong Rewatchables category, but Iโm hoping for The Union 2. I wanted to thank you again for the wonderful Museum Hours recommendation. I loved the conversations, observations and cinematography. I loved the vibe and discovering Patti Smith was also a producer of the film. I love her books and photography. I looked up the director and they worked together on another film and I rented Counting and now Iโm a little obsessed about the director/writer/producer/photographer Jem Cohenโs fabulous photography and cinematography.๐
Good point about bad reviews. Sometimes they hit the mark; other times they don’t. We recently saw Boderlands, which got terrible reviews and unfairly so, we thought. It wasn’t great, but it certainly wasn’t terrible, either.
How wonderful that you liked Mueum Hours so much. A beautiful movie that rewards patience. I did not know that Patti Smith was a producer, and I didn’t know about Counting. I will be checking it out.
