Friday Favorite

Another new weekly blogging theme and today’s favorite was a surprise to me. While I’m a lifelong Democrat (with some days this summer as an Independent), I don’t believe I’ve ever said watching a Democratic National Convention was a favorite event, until the rockin’ convention this year. There was a great concert vibe mixed in with all the fabulous speeches and with a strong message of joy and freedom surrounding the Harris/Walz team marching toward Election Day, it was obvious to everyone watching that β€œAmerica, hope is making a comeback” and β€œwe’re not going back.”

  1. Heard bits of Harris last night, and the contrast in choices and what common sense voters can do given what the whiner is offering seems beyond obvious.
There were some tremendous speeches all week – it’s said she doesn’t want to, isn’t interested, but if Michelle Obama ran for president…
Here’s to hope – have a great weekend!

    1. It’s unfortunate that our news has spent so much time covering the whiner over the last eight years, because it was absolutely wonderful to hear so many different voices share their stories, words and hope for the future. I know we have to go back to reality and I’m going to be stressed until Harris/Walz win in November, but I would give anything to have them elected tomorrow and have the hope and respect of this week on display every day across every news channel! So many great speeches and thought Kamala’s speech was perfect. Enjoy the weekend and cheers to hope and a good match between Everton/Spurs!🍻

  2. Hear, hear! So many inspiring speeches. Now, onward, ho to November. Fingers, toes, and everything else crossed that Harris and Walz win.

    1. I’m so glad I watched this week to not only see the fabulous speeches from current leaders in the party, but also that I had a chance to see many great speeches by those that are the future of party. Very excited about Harris/Walz and will also keep everything crossed!! We have great women leadership in Michigan and like Whitmer said, they β€œget stuff done!β€πŸ™‚

      1. Same! So many talented, dynamic folks in the Democratic party. There just might be some hope after all.

  3. I seem to have lost touch with American politics other than I hope you all don’t suffer a comeback of a certain unstable individual. After years of Tory madness and buffoonery, Britain finally has a Labour government again. Will anything change though, who knows. Hope your election is won by someone sensible and decent.

    1. September and October are favorite months that I never want to go fast, but I don’t know how I’m going to make it to Election Day in November, because we have to have the great team of Harris/Walz win!!πŸ™‚

  4. I’m surprised the glow hasn’t worn off yet, except I have this terrifying nightmare where GA and AZ question their own results and send GOP electors to Electoral College. Dems in quandary: allow them and lose, or challenge and lose when it’s thrown to the House? (the *really* dark version ends in violent skirmishes) “no, I’m not stressing at all–why do you ask?”
