Sometimes in life when there is no vacation on the horizon and days seem to be merging together into a blur of activities and worries, it is very easy to miss all the wonderful and simple enjoyments that can be found in an ordinary day of life.  Often we find ourselves waiting for the weekend, the next big event or some new exciting purchase and we fail to see the simple joys just waiting for us to take notice.  During a bike ride, we may miss the beautiful scenery while pedaling past and our chance to appreciate the beautiful flowers or fail to see the morning moon as a constant companion on an amazing morning of a garden-variety day.

It is surprising how a day spent enjoying a cup of coffee and a Starbucks Frappuccino, seeing flowers everywhere, cruising Woodward with the windows down enjoying the wonderful aroma of great restaurants wafting in the air, recalling childhood memories of wanting to enjoy the last remnants of daylight when driving past a group of kids on bicycles, seeing young and old lined up for ice cream cones and the endless joy of watching a beloved pet brings to mind Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World” on a garden-variety day of simple enjoyments.
