Lately it seems each trip outdoors with the camera brings the realization that the rhythm of nature is marching in a new direction.  The autumn leaves blowing through the air on crisp northern winds cross paths with the variety of birds flying toward new destinations.  The egrets and cormorants have quietly slipped away, while the ducks, herons, geese and swans are celebrating their solitude on serene water after the closing of cottages and the last boat rides of the season.  There is the rare flower fighting for one last bloom and turtles seeking the warmth of sunny days before the lengthened dark nights of fall frost arrive.  As quietness descends across the parks and lakes, the final lasting images will be of nature reflecting its brilliance across gentle waves of blue until the surfaces are frozen with time slipping away to a new season of surprises.
