I have not seen the deer often this winter and was lucky the other day to see them in the morning and evening. There are three in the group, but one is extremely shy.

Lovely shots, so great you could capture them!

Thank you! One of those rare days where they were curious and did not bolt into the woods immediately.

The movie had its moments – but the structure felt forced, and it was hard to feel sympathy for the central characters.
Beautiful deer!

I’m not a big fan of Jake Gyllenhaal or Amy Adams, but I’m still trying to watch films nominated for an Oscar and Michael Shannon was nominated for supporting actor. My next film to watch is Arrival, another film with Amy Adams. Hopefully I’ll have a better reaction to that film. I’m glad you enjoyed the deer!

The movie reminded me (a little) of Hell or High Water, and I really enjoyed HoHW. Michael Shannon was the best thing about Nocturnal Animals. Have to admit, was looking forward to Arrival, and left the theatre slightly disappointed – well made, well acted, but seemed less than the sum of its parts. Not a waste of time, just not as wonderful as the buzz around it was saying. Be interested to hear what you think!

I also thought of HoHW while watching the movie and it still remains a favorite film from the year. At the last minute, and probably because I was not ready for another Amy Adams movie, I decided to watch Moonlight. The acting was excellent and my only disappointment was that Mahershala Ali did not have a larger role. He was great in House of Cards and it will be interesting to see who wins the supporting actor category. Up next is Hacksaw Ridge or Arrival.
