I Promised Myself I Would Not Cry…

I promised myself I would not cry when this wonderful weather spell ended and I’m going to hold myself to that promise.  We managed to break two records this week when we reached 67 degrees twice and I do not recall ever seeing our local lakes flowing with water and people already in their yards working on spring clean-up in late February.  As the storms and snow arrive over the next day, I’m going to be grateful for the gorgeous sunsets, the ice melting, the swans back to swimming and the robins announcing spring’s early arrival.  Okay, I lied, the threat of rain, high wind, thunder, tornadoes and snow in a twenty-four hour period is enough to make a woman blubber.

    1. Thank you! It was exciting to have the lake and swans back. The storms haven’t arrived yet and so far I only became a little misty eyed when the lake was covered with fog this morning.

  3. Oh dear! It is the extremes that are the problem – but lovely photos 🙂

    1. Thank you! One of the nice things about winter is usually the lack of thunderstorms. Gabby loves to compete with the thunder and sometimes I’m not sure which is louder, her barking or the thunder.

  5. Lovely photographs! A hint of spring…
Nobody wants a tornado, don’t mind a thunderstorm, and snow is to be encouraged – but all three in 24 hours? Yikes, and I hope it doesn’t happen!

    1. Thank you! We were lucky that the severe storms missed us and we only had the rain and thunder. The week of spring was fantastic, but I won’t mind seeing a few snow flurries tomorrow.

  8. Beautiful photos! Especially like the robin that looks disgruntled at the weather changes.

    1. Thank you! The robin was probably wondering like the rest of us if it was too late to book a flight out of town until spring actually arrives.
