It’s another movie theme Saturday since I immediately thought of the movie title Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner after I watched this Great Blue Heron walk toward the stairs after striking out searching for fish along the shoreline and frogs in the flower bed. I’ve always loved romantic comedies and one of the early on-screen couples I adored, who starred in Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, were Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. My mother and I watched their collection of movies together many times while I was growing up and I’ve always loved when the on-screen sparks of certain actors could be portrayed in multiple movies. There have been so many great romantic couples in the movies over the years and one couple that I wished had made more than one movie together were Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal from my all-time favorite romantic comedy, When Harry Met Sally. A few more of my favorite couples that starred in several movies together are John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara, Woody Allen and Diane Keaton, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, Richard Gere and Julia Roberts and Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

You are lucky!

He was in no hurry to leave and I was amazed that I was able to watch him so closely for quite some time.🙂

I own both Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner and When Harry Met Sally. Two of my favorites as well.

Still haven’t seen La La Land! Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are usually the best thing in any movie, even if the movie isn’t that great, but it just doesn’t appeal. We watched the first two episodes of Maniac yesterday – very odd, but just compelling enough for us to stay with it!
Favourite Katharine Hepburn movie is The African Queen – not exactly a romantic comedy, but what a movie…
Enjoy your weekend!

Loved Emma and Ryan in La La Land and Crazy Stupid Love and added Maniac to my watch list once I discovered she was in the series. I loved Katharine Hepburn in so many movies that it’s difficult to choose a favorite. I have no idea why or where it began, but I’m not a Humphrey Bogart fan and, as much as I’ve tried, I have never been able to add Casablanca or The African Queen to a favorite list.🙂

And don’t forget Bogey and Bacall. 🙂

Bogey and Bacall has always been on my mother’s favorite movie couples list and we also enjoyed watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and Doris Day and Rock Hudson.🙂

I’ve never seen him there before and I guess he was waiting for the end of summer dinner party.😁

I have found myself very much into herons this year. Did you set a place for him at the table? Maybe he popped round to watch a few of those fab old movies.

I love hanging out with the herons, but they usually only tolerate my company for a very brief visit. It was so much fun to see this one stop by and be in no hurry to leave.🙂
