    I can’t quite make out what is happening in that first photo. It looks like a large bird standing up, hand propped under his chin, contemplating life. 🙂

      The great blue heron was not contemplating life, but contemplating how long he could pretend he would stay in a perfect spot for some photos on a freezing morning as I kayaked across the lake toward him. He flew away right after this photo.😁
