The Week In Seven Photos

After years of having the cardinals scatter the moment I entered the yard with my camera, it’s been wonderful to finally have a bird feeder and placement they love where the cardinals are in their comfort zone.

On the other hand, I wish the squirrels sometimes weren’t so comfortable in every bird feeder and learned how to take turns.

Often my comfort zone can have a direct correlation to the vibes of the day and recently while dining out

I was asked why are we waiting over a half hour at a new restaurant for a table. ย Of course, my first response was that it’s because of the good vibes and sometimes you can just look around and know it’s your kind of place.

Before you know it, the good vibes are contagious, everyone looks happy and someone wants to start singing Good Vibrations.

I must admit over the years I have developed a number of comfort zones and there is a heavy feeling of dread being dragged out of the zone sometimes.

I was laughing this week with my hairstylist that I’ve been listening to his bad jokes now for thirty years and I’ve decided I might hide in the trees with the cardinals if he ever retires.

  1. As always, wonderful narrative and pictures. Sometimes I envy extroverts and their ability to be comfortable with so many people and so many places. But then again, are they as comfortable just being with themselves as we introverts are? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ It was funny once I discovered what story these photos would tell for the week of how true it is that comfort zones and good vibes can make a difference for this introvert and, at times, almost turn me into an extrovert for a little while. I had time to think about this, since I now travel quite far to the hair salon.๐Ÿ˜

  2. Oh such lovely Cold photos – Thank you! (It’s been very hot here today!)
I really love the 4th photo of the little squirrel sitting with his little paws held up. ๐Ÿ™‚
And the red Cardinal sure stands out in the snow. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™m glad I could send some cool vibes your way with the winter scenery.๐Ÿ˜ Seems strange to say that it was fun to sit outdoors in the cold and snow, but the squirrels and birds were very entertaining.๐Ÿ˜

  3. Cardinals are definitely the royalty that visit our feeders. Always a thrill.
Send your hairdresser that video of the 109-year-old barber. No need to retire. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Iโ€™ve loved watching the cardinals this week and Iโ€™ve never taken so many photos in one day of my backyard birds.๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™m happy to know that maybe I can expect to enjoy many more years with my hairstylist, I wasnโ€™t looking forward to wearing a baseball hat the rest of my life.๐Ÿ˜

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ I thought I had a stress free football weekend with Notre Dame not playing and waiting to see who they will play against in the playoff, but then I checked the Premier League schedule. Enjoyed reading about the Merseyside Derby history and maybe you will be celebrating by tossing around the Gatorade like Mourinho after his latest win or at least toss back a favorite beverage in celebration of an Everton win.๐Ÿ˜
