Quite sensible to stay inside. It’s not anywhere near as cold here—just a little below zero—and I have no desire to go outside. Good thing there is always plenty to do inside. Poor creatures who must deal with the extreme cold. We have a mouse in our basement—probably more than one—and as long as he doesn’t come upstairs, I’m not too worried about him.
Our wind chill warning has turned into an advisory and after record-setting temperatures we will have a dramatic change over the weekend to warmer temps and everyone, including the animals, will be thrilled.
Thank you! Hiding indoors other then when we have to restock the bird feeders. The little birds are busy snacking through the snow and frigid temperatures, but the poor turkeys look miserable huddled up in a group in our yard.
Cardinals have a special meaning to me when I see one, thank you for sharing your beautiful capture. “When a Cardinal appears, an Angel is near.” I always say hi to my Mom when I see one. Somewhat of a comfort for me, I suppose. 🙂
The first thing which sprang to mind was fab Christmas card image, but everyone else has said that too. As I’m behind with comments as usual, do you still have snow?
Wowsah! What a beauty. Would make a great card.

Thank you! While everyone is hiding in their homes due to the snow and frigid temperatures and wind chill, the birds have been very busy.

Good to have it warmer, but, holy cats, what a contrast.

We’ve been alternating between snow and rain every few days, with both on the way again tomorrow.❄️☔️
