Monday Musings

Our first weekend of winter felt more like spring and guaranteed we will not have a white Christmas, but the warmer temperatures are appreciated during the wee hours of the morning when I spend quality time outdoors with Harper.

She’s made great progress in alerting me to animals roaming around in the dark with us and I’m always relieved when I finally see the white outline on the deer’s ears. ย These skills have not transferred to her awareness of our surroundings at the park where she misses every duck we encounter. ย That includes the one standing next to us,

those in the water staring at us and

the few flying straight in our direction.

I hope she spots Santa’s sleigh in time for me to duck.
