Things have been a little wild lately on the lake between the birds
and while I have continued to maintain my distance from the meanest swan on the lake,
the little birds have decided they prefer a closer relationship with the eagle
and sandhill cranes.
You not only have to be careful of what is buzzing by your head, but also what is lurking below the surface as I was startled by this turtle
and this red-winged blackbird luckily escaped being eaten by a pike.
Thankfully Harper is missing all this action since I’m still trying to get her to calm down after encountering lizards on our walk.

Superb photos! ๐
I particularly like the tiny bird trying to make the eagle go away. So brave!
Poor Harper – but those lizards are striking!! ๐

Thank you!๐ Loved the lizards and we have so many backyard visitors that I was hoping Harper wouldnโt notice if I added a few to our trees.๐

Itโs all action out there! I hope the Premier League can find some excitement – although the dull goalless Merseyside derby was fine by me.

When games get too boring, I can always catch up on the Kane/Mourinho/Manchester United gossip!๐

Breeding season is a lively time, it seems. I don’t think I’d like being attacked by any of them!

So far I havenโt had any close encounters, but a young hawk almost hit my husband in the head while chasing a bird in the backyard. Iโm kayaking earlier than normal this year and obviously the birds are at their feistiest early in the morning.๐
