With our coldest temperatures
and biggest snowfall of the year,
it was the perfect week to hide indoors after a trip to the market to enjoy the flowers and pick up necessary supplies.
Easy to forget the cold world when you’re in a paczki and beignet sugar coma.
It was also perfect timing for two new travel and food shows to begin and remind me of the world outside of my little bubble.
Stanley Tucci has always been a favorite and his new series Searching for Italy on CNN brightened the day and left me craving more pasta and pizza.
I’ve been reading the book Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other by Sam Heughan & Graham McTavish and the two actors from the Outlander series have followed that up with a new travel show Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham. The week wasn’t all food and shows, I did manage a few walks.
Those beignets look so good. You are living in a beautiful winter wonderland. I’ve seen “Men in Kilts” advertised, and it looks fun.

Definitely enjoyed the beignets and shows more than the snow! It’s time for winter to be over when we can no longer throw the snow over the tall snowbanks!😁

Beignet mix? Now there is a good idea! How’d they turn out?

I’m going to make another batch just to make sure they were as great as I thought!😁

Stanley Tucci is so entertaining – throw in Italy, and that’s a hit! I’ll look out for the Outlander whiskey tour as well – I’ve tried to like whiskey, but nope. However, I do like Scotland!
Stay warm!

I think I’ve set a record watching food/travel shows this year (including several Anthony Bourdain marathons) and I’m looking forward to these new shows and hopefully more seasons. Often influenced by these shows, so it will be pasta and wine with thoughts of men in kilts.😁
