Today’s Musings

As I continue to hide away from the world,

I’ve discovered over the last year that I make a fabulous breakfast sandwich, when I don’t overcook the eggs,

and that this delicious deli Mish Mash soup (chicken noodle, matzo ball, kreplach, rice & carrots) was a perfect dinner choice to celebrate the second COVID-19 vaccine shot was over.

Someone needs to put a parental lock on my iPad as I’ve developed a streaming app addiction and it has become too easy during this latest COVID-19 surge to buy a book or movie that has captured my interest. The discovery+ app is my latest addiction as I’ve enjoyed traveling to Italy and cooking with Giada De Laurentiis. I did manage to drag myself out of the house to enjoy flowers at the park, since even a pandemic could not help me catch the gardening bug.

  1. Wonderful that you got your second shot! Ours is coming right up. Food looks great. I know just what you mean about apps for streaming. If our budget allowed, I’d pretty much have them all. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ The streaming apps always know how to offer one or two new great shows that I have to see!! It took a long time for me to be able to pay the $19.99 rental fee for new movie releases, but now I even find myself ordering those on the rare occasion. Without a parental lock, this weekend Iโ€™m going to be renting the new movie Nobody starring Bob Odenkirk.๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Enjoy! And think how dismal the pandemic would have been without streaming.

  4. Wonderful musings and photos, ACI. It will take a long time for all of us to emerge, and all in good time. In the meantime, enjoy what is safe and beautiful and thank you for sharing it.

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™ve decided I also need a parental lock on my Want to Read and Watchlists or I may never leave the house.๐Ÿ˜

  5. I will be more than willing to test your breakfast skills to confirm your talent! I need to remember not to read your posts when I’m hungry!

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ˜ The soup is absolutely wonderful and if by chance itโ€™s one of those days I overcook the eggs, I know the best place with a fabulous selection of French toast!๐Ÿ˜

  6. Good food, cook books (then more good food), other books, streaming and hitting the park with your dog – thereโ€™s simply no time to learn how to garden…
Happy to hear youโ€™ve had the second shot! Inching closer to a post-pandemic situation, but goodness knows how to engage again in that world! Iโ€™ve just remembered Everton/Spurs was today and I donโ€™t know the score…

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ Even after the second shot my mindset appears to prefer talking wine bottles over people, so Iโ€™m not sure how this engaging with the world is going to work. Always another great book, movie or show to discover and I wish I had more time to actually think about cooking something during my Giada binge watching.๐Ÿ˜
