It’s that time of year to begin getting summer priorities in order and thankfully Harper is already on bug patrol,

so we’re both prepared to quickly bolt through the yard if anything buzzes within ten feet.

Finding a summer vacation destination is very important and it appears one of the turkey couples has decided they are staying for the summer.

Also, it’s essential to find the best gardens in the local area if a dose of color is needed

and to make sure there are enough snacks for the backyard visitors, but

it appears some believe there are never enough snacks.

An absolute summer priority is loving those days when you need to hide out indoors watching a double feature (Wrath of Man and The Marksman) because the dew point is out of control or we have a week like this one with plenty of rain and temperatures going from ninety to fifty degrees.

How fortunate to have an early warning Bug Alarm, in Harper! I can just imagine you both running for cover! π
And the expression you caught in the squirrel’s face, when he realises the food bowls are empty, is priceless! π
Enjoy all the summer flowers, and hopefully some warmer weather on the way! π

Thank you!π Harperβs relieved itβs raining and forty degrees today so she doesnβt have to worry about any bugs. One bug bite on her belly as a puppy and ever since sheβs had a severe phobia (not at all influenced by my waving my arms or slightly shrieking when I see one)πΎπ Iβm not usually afraid of chipmunks, but the way he was staring at me was a little unnerving and the bowls will now be filled to the brim.π

haha The Bugs! π
Yes, you better keep those bowls topped up! π
And though this has nothing to do with anything, as I type this, the Cape Eagle Owl has just started hooting outside the window! It’s dark here now, and I never see her/him, but it’s always great to hear. π

Ok, it doesnβt seem fair we get to listen for bugs while you get to listen to an owl, but Iβm afraid Harper would never sleep again if we had an owl serenading us all night. Seriously though, how wonderful to hear and have that beautiful bird nearby and Iβm still hoping one visits me at the park!π

I do love to hear my owl at night – and I’m sure you’ll get a photo of yours one day. π

A full week! Are the turkeys semi-tame?
Love that shot of chippie… “Yo, wench, these are empty!” π

Thank you!π Iβm convinced thatβs the original turkey who stopped by a few years ago and then invited all his friends for the winter, but heβs the only one that keeps visiting throughout the summer. Loved your caption for chippie and this rain better end soon so they can return to their regular feeding schedule (now with extra snacks for chippie). Enjoy the weekend!π

Those backyard visitors are mighty cute, but none of them holds a candle to Harper. What a wonderful picture! One to frame.

Thank you!πΎπ I took a number of bad shots of Harper refusing to look at the camera and was glad to capture this favorite.πΎπ

Important to get summer priorities right. One problem, we just need summer.

We need a few more of those perfect days of blue skies and temps in the sixties.π

These are fun photos, ACI, and I also enjoyed your narrative. I espec. like the big Tom turkey in his splendor, and the one of the chipmunk with the two bowls had me chuckling. I’m glad warmer temperatures have come your way.

Thank you!π I havenβt seen any squirrels by those bowls lately and Iβm beginning to think that tough little chipmunk has scared them away.π

Wonderful photograph of Harper, and as for the chipmunk, clearly life is good only if the bowls are topped up.
