The Week In One Photo

Itโ€™s one of those weeks where Iโ€™m just going to ramble for a bit since I failed to take any photos other than this shot of the Momโ€™s Pantry Flashback puzzle my niece put together. I suppose I could have done a photo flashback feature of summer highlights, but Iโ€™m honestly too jaded to experience it again. Ok, that might not be true, but Iโ€™ve been held hostage by my books and remote control all week. Iโ€™m a fan of happy flashbacks and was surprised at all the memories that quickly flashed through my mind looking at this puzzleโ€ฆmy mother drinking Tab back in the 70sโ€ฆthe Twinkies are for dad, have a cookieโ€ฆthe Zingers in my Scooby-Doo lunch boxโ€ฆstealing my brotherโ€™s Pringlesโ€ฆThe 70s โ€œMikey Likes Itโ€ Life cereal commercialโ€ฆSearching for the Cracker Jack toy before eating the caramel coated popcornโ€ฆA lifetime of only using Heinz Ketchup and Mrs. Butterworthโ€™s Syrupโ€ฆKool-Aid over Tang, Froot Loops over Fruity Pebbles, Doritos over Cheetosโ€ฆFine dining on Spaghetti-Oโ€™sโ€ฆBreakfast with Tony The Tigerโ€ฆIโ€™m craving Pop-Tarts and just know that I have a box somewhere in the cupboardโ€ฆ

  1. Although I am used to different products, I too was taken down memory lane with your post. What marvellous memories this jigsaw invoked. ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. So many memories in that puzzle! I remember the Mrs. Butterworth commercial where the bottle moves and speaks. Yummy syrup on mom’s pancakes! The good old days. โค๏ธ

  4. I recognize some of those items from my childhood, but many were not available – possibly not on sale in the UK back then, or, even more likely, my mother would not allow certain products in the house! I like the image, very colourful, and if you find and eat even some of those, then I hope Harper can keep up as you burn off the sugar rushโ€ฆ
    Have a good weekend!

    1. Thank you!๐Ÿ™‚ I always laugh when Iโ€™m shopping and one of these items ends up in the cart with the thought of how much I loved it growing up to only discover there should be an age limit on some items. Of course, that never applies to pop-tarts, cookies, Cracker Jack popcorn, Doritos, Zingersโ€ฆEnjoy the weekend!๐Ÿ˜

  6. Heinz ketchup and Tony the tiger did make it in Britain , pity Count chockula didn’t. Haha that’s funny. Love this. I have books compiled by Robert Opie who had a museum of British packaging and stuff from previous decades.
