    Looks as though there is just a skim of ice. Is that true for all the lakes in your area? And if so, how does this compare with other years?

      I don’t recall ever having a winter like this year. Only a handful of days for ice fishing or snowmobiling and I have lost track this month how many times the lake has froze and melted. This is true of many of the inland lakes in our area and the Great Lakes are at an all-time low ice coverage of 7% for this time in February and it’s usually 35-40 percent. I’m as confused as all the birds as to what will happen next.🙂

        Same in Maine! We’ve never had such a winter. I need to go around and take some pictures of our lakes.
