I’ve Been Pondering…

The Icelandic phrase “þetta reddast” which means “it will all work out in the end.” I wrapped up all my projects a week early and have begun my summer vacation away from to-do lists and over thinking and letting go of the illusion of control. In other words, I hope it will all work out okay taking a vacation from myself for the next few months. Might have been easier to just take a vacation in Iceland, which is one of the top three happiest countries, but I enjoy a challenge. Although, with Iceland’s population under 400,000 and a climate that suits my fall/winter personality, I hope I don’t consider moving in my free time. As we get ready to kick off the hot, hot summer season this weekend, I’m going to remember for a moment some of the beauty of my second favorite month of the year.

  1. Iceland? Would like to visit sometime, a land of great stories, old and new. I’ve never liked fish to eat, so living there full time might be a challenge as I don’t think their growing season is too long!
Here’s hoping summer will be your happy place, not too hot or humid, or if it is, that you’ve got a decent array of books and chilled drinks to hand. Or a flight to Iceland!
Have a great weekend! If Everton lose, I’m sulking for the summer.

    1. Thank you and if Everton and Tottenham lose I’ll even be sulking all summer!😁 OMG, the weather has been fabulous the last few weeks and I hope we’re lucky enough to have it last until August so I don’t get dragged into making lists again when I have to create a pros and cons list about moving to Iceland. Thank god I created my summer books/drinks list before the list ban!! Enjoy the weekend and try not to jinx Everton!😎

  2. A lovely collection of Photos! It’s headed toward winter here in Tasmania, probably still warmer than Iceland in summer perhaps, though they would have much longer summer days! MMMM, summer … bring it on

  3. First of all, thank you for such beautiful pictures to begin the holiday weekend. The first picture of the swan and cygnet is especially fine. Everything about it is perfect. Second, I’m with you all the way about being a fall/winter person. How I hate hot, hot weather. Iceland sounds very attractive. Finally, this country is wearing me down to a frazzle yet again. Hello, debt ceiling. Will we be getting our Social Security checks next month? Stay tuned…

    1. Thank you!🙂 We’ve had a few weeks of perfect weather that I’m hoping will return after our heat wave next week. Definitely not a fan of the hot humid days and will be hiding indoors with a good book when they arrive. It’s very difficult to watch the debt ceiling negotiations and not be disillusioned again about what’s happening in our country. Have to hope all the recent news topics gets people to vote in all the upcoming elections.🙂

    1. The weather has been absolutely wonderful this month and somehow we’ve even had frost advisories over the last two weeks. I’m hoping our little heat wave next week doesn’t return until July and that we have a pleasant month of weather in June.😎
