The Week In Seven Photos

With a mini heat wave upon us, days were spent in simple moments enjoying cool peaceful walks at sunrise surrounded by mist

and enveloped in the spring perfume of lilacs

Found myself very lucky to have the bike paths and lake to myself in the early mornings, it offered a leisurely pace to savor my coffee breaks while biking,

kayaking and

watching the precious little birds.

I’m not sure what Harper was daydreaming about by the water, but I was pondering why it is that I enjoy drinking hot coffee all day during a heat wave.

  1. Excellent Harper’s eye view of the world – and it’s not too bad, with bikes, kayaks, lilacs and peaceful coffee breaks!
Is it the contrast between daytime hot coffee and that first chilled drink of the evening? We’re out east atm, it’s been hotter than we’ve been used to the past few years, and we’re very much enjoying it – especially the cold beer in the shade around early evening (late afternoon? We’ve been slipping…)
    Enjoy your weekend ahead!

    1. Thank you!!🐾😁 Fabulous to read that you and Mrs. PC are enjoying the It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere vibe and lifestyle!! Make sure you add a Jimmy Buffett playlist on the next trip. I’m trying to enjoy this little heat wave on the deck right now, but thankfully Harper just chased a turkey away and needs to go inside for a drink. Enjoy the weekend and cold beers!!😎

  2. Early mornings are beautiful. Makes me wish I were a morning person. Alas, I am not. Sweet pictures of the swans and of Harper’s dear little head.

    1. Thank you!!πŸ™‚ I think all those years of early mornings commuting to work turned me into a morning person. We were lucky all week with the warm temps to have beautiful cool mornings and next week we go back to normal.πŸ™‚

      1. In truth, I wish I were a morning person because oddly enough I do my best work in the morning. Just rather later than when true morning folks get going. Ah, well. We are what we are. πŸ˜‰

  6. I had a boss once who told me small-town restaurants and diners sold more coffee on hotter days. Shrug. Defies logic but – who knows. Maybe it’s true!

  8. Hot coffee is for whenever you want to enjoy it, heatwave or not. I think there is something magical about very early mornings when the world looks mysterious and peaceful, and the best thing is that you don’t have
    to share it with anyone.

    1. My love for coffee and those early mornings never wavers!!πŸ™‚ I was planning on trying more walks in the evening this summer, but this thought is quickly fading between all the traffic and people. LOVE my peaceful morning solitude!! Don’t know if you watched the FA Cup Final, but I was amazed Man United missed those late shots and that the crowd was decked out in their gifted limited edition bucket hats.😁

      1. I did watch the cup final and loved the hats. Knew City would win. Now they have the coveted treble. Oh well.
