The cure for a week with too many appointments along with fog, rain, thunder, heat, humidity, severe storms, power outages, air quality alerts and foggy smoky haze. After much thought, I believe a dose of Idris Elba in Hijack, a prescription of Jack Ryan, a daily fix of the Tour de France, the book remedy The Violin Conspiracy, a bowl of gumbo and a wee dram are the perfect wonder drugs needed for my treatment plan this weekend.
Just what the doctor ordered! Thanks for reminding me that Jack Ryan is starting today. Hope the air clears soon for you and for everyone else who is affected. Just heard that Washington, DC is code red. It’s been quite a summer, hasn’t it? Strangely enough, Maine hasn’t been affected. But that could change any day.
Thank you!🙂 It’s improving here and I’m glad the smoke weather pattern has been missing Maine. It looks like the worst of it is back in New York and Washington DC and it definitely doesn’t sound like things are improving in Canada. I’ve been staying indoors the last few days and was thrilled to have two new shows and good books.🙂

It’s good to have a plan! The past week didn’t feel very summery, particularly with the wildfire smoke… hopefully, some rain will ease things on that front…
Idris Elba is popping up in everything! Briefly in Extraction 2 (now that was full on, almost exhausting, fingers crossed they make 3 and Idris gets more to do!) but would you feel safe if he got on your train or bus? It wouldn’t be a boring journey.

Thank you!🙂 I’ve been wondering how you guys have been doing with the wildfire smoke. We’ve never had a week like this one and surprisingly with how much the wildfires our affecting our states the news, other than mentioning the number of fires in Canada, has failed to cover how Canada is doing. The plan is off to a great start with Idris Elba in Hijack. I was a little skeptical this would work in a series compared to a movie, but I never should have doubted him, it’s great and wish all the episodes were available. Already waiting for Extraction 3 and still wish they would at least do a podcast together until then so I could just listen to them chat!! We still have an air quality alert through the weekend, but things have improved and I’m now hiding indoors more from the humidity than the smoke binge watching the Jack Ryan series and based on the forecast for the rest of the weekend, I may have time to binge watch Luther. Enjoy the weekend!🙂
