I’ve Been Pondering…

The phrase up shit creek without a paddle. One of those phrases I’ve heard throughout my lifetime, but not one I liked or wanted to use until this week. While my mother is still improving and recovering, my husband now has vertigo and while I don’t need a paddle for the creek, I am about ready to swat any irritating topic that comes my way with my paddle. I’m one that usually remains calm in a crisis, but so far this week I’m boycotting Costco, Amazon, a favorite Chinese restaurant, a favorite bakery, artificial intelligence technology, the news, the creation of the Barbenheimer craze over two movies that should not have been intertwined, people that enjoy tropical humidity and storms, pickleball, shadow boxing in the strip mall parking lot instead of the gym, electric company surges that blow up electronics, the Lionel Messi bandwagon, people that walk in the dark without reflective clothing, the thunder gods torturing Harper…

  1. Oh my! Hope the vertigo goes away soon. A trying summer, that’s for sure.

  2. Goodness, that’s a lot to be contending with – here’s hoping your husband’s vertigo diminishes, the storms break the humidity and fast approaching August is more like September… On the plus side, I think at the time of writing, Kane is still a Spurs player?! But don’t bet all your bit coins or crypto (whatever those are) on that staying the same!
I hope your weekend goes well and the paddle is only in the water…

    1. Thank you and hopefully the paddle is back in the water next week!🙂 The Kane soap opera has to wrap up soon with the new season beginning in two weeks and after being unable to watch our soccer league, I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch Bundesliga. The dew point reached 74 today and the thunder gods are expected to torture Harper around 3:00am, so with a few trees already showing some fall color I’m just going to cheer myself up and pretend it’s already September. Enjoy the weekend and god help me if I have to start following Everton this year!🙂

      1. And no storms, there is a very active system crossing Wisconsin right now, keep an eye and ear out! Poor Harper. ☹️

      2. Harper survived another hour of thunder and thankfully the storms weren’t as bad as the other day. We still have about 60,000 people without power from that storm.🐾🙂

      3. Yay, Harper! Wow, that’s a whole lot of people, I hope they get power back soon. ☹️

  6. Oh my, what a lot of things to ponder about. Hope the vertigo sorts itself out. I don’t know about the Messi bandwagon but hope Spurs do something definite about Kane soon, probably to Bayern is it? I know Man Utd can’t afford. It’s the whole Man Utd transfer kerfuffle for me. If the current owners stay with even part ownership, Man Utd will have to borrow your paddle.

    1. Thank you!🙂 It sounds like the Kane transfer might be decided this week and I still wish he had joined Man Utd. I’ve never been a Messi fan and now that he’s playing in our soccer league, I’m still not a fan.🙂

      1. Not sure where Messi has gone since leaving PSG to be honest. Is it a club that has something to do with David Beckham in USA or am I wrong?

      2. He just joined Beckham’s Major League Soccer team Miami and has scored three goals in two matches.🙂
