IPhone Journey – Day 4

When I initially saw the swans, I thought an iPhone photo was not going to be easy since the father and I have had a very contentious relationship over the years and there was no way I would get close enough for a good shot. It was one of the very very rare times that I said thank god for hot and humid weather, because he had no interest in chasing me as I approached closer. I had no idea a great blue heron was in the area until he took off across the water and then strangely flew back and forth a few times in front of us. Now, I also have a very contentious relationship with the great blue heron after disturbing his fishing while kayaking and believe he was purposely flying back and forth because he knew I did not have my Nikon. Thankfully this wasn’t an β€œI’ve Been Pondering” post or I might have had to ponder why I enjoy contentious relationships.

Steps: 5,600, would have been a lot more if my favorite ornery swan had chased me

Watching: Virgin River – Season 5 Part 1 (Netflix)

  1. Those 5600 count double because the swan might have chased you – psychological steps have to be included…
The heat is meant to break today and we hope that’s accurate. Lots of spare outdoor time this weekend as there’s no football – that’s the real relief!
    Enjoy the weekend!

    1. Thanks for telling me about the psychological steps rule, it will be used!! Woo-hoo, it barely made it over 60 degrees today and the humidity is finally going down! Perfect weather this weekend, so hopefully early morning walks before all day football. Enjoy the weekend!!🏈😎

    1. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been kayaking and he waits until I’m close and I think I have a chance to photograph him and he squawks and flies away. He has always flown in one direction to another fishing spot and I have no idea why he was flying back and forth like that, other than to taunt me.😁

      1. animals do not behave like humans,It’s easy to think that way but they have valid reasons for doing what they are doing.
There is one Heron who when he sees me,he takes off right away. In other words they do recognize people and If they associate you with being bothered, they will flee.
This particular heron was flying back and forth waiting for you to leave so it could perch back on the dock I bet?

      3. normally what happens is that the tiny fish try to hide under these floating docks and larger fish come in for snackies!
