Frosty November Walk

After sixty-six days of this iPhone Journey, I’ve determined leaving the Nikon at home has made a difference in my neck/back pain and this journey will continue throughout winter, although you will no longer see iPhone Journey in the title. I don’t know if changing my photography habits is affecting other things, but a few surprising changes, not related to photography, that have also happened during this time is that my enjoyment and appreciation of coffee has skyrocketed, I no longer shop through Amazon and I’m currently listening to classical music in the car and on my walks. Harper is thrilled with the music change and I had no idea that the reason she was high-strung in the car was her dislike of my music choices and she’s been very mellow in the car the last few days.

    This read to me like something from a completely different world. After seeing it was you who posted it, it took me a moment to process … this is probably a real picture of set of Earth objects! Incredible. And yay, too, for finding a little relief from aches. 🙂

      Thank you!🙂 It’s wonderful to walk and take photos without stopping early because of the pain and it took two frosty walks by the pond and some editing to finally get the photo I was looking for.🙂

    It is so much easier to walk around with a phone than with a real camera. I have used at wintertime this phone for photos.

      It’s taken a long time to slowly switch, but I finally rarely think I wish I had my Nikon for that shot and love the more relaxing walks.🙂

    There is no doubt that carrying a heavy camera about takes a toll on hands and wrists. I have had to buy a lighter camera. You seem to be very capable of taking interesting pictures with your phone so perhaps it was a good idea to leave the camera at home.

      Thank you!🙂 I finally rarely think about my Nikon and big lens on my walks and while I miss some of my bird photography opportunities, I was excited to get a good iPhone photo of sandhill cranes yesterday.🙂

    I love your new photo! As though it were in another world. ❤️ I’m glad that Harper has mellowed some, animals are very sensitive creatures too. I have been shooting my new iPhone 15 continuously since purchasing it and am very pleased with its performance. I may end up selling the Sony A7C I recently purchased. It was around 50 here today and very windy.

      Thank you!!🙂 I first thought Harper was just tired from our walk she was so relaxed in the car, but I have no doubt now that Harper loves classical music. The more you talk about the new iPhone, I may need to upgrade sooner than planned.🐾🙂

        That is wonderful that Harper has relaxed! Sweet dog. I am sure that you won’t regret purchasing the new iPhone 15 if it’s the camera you are after. No regrets here! Tomorrow, I have a drive across the state to Holland with my dad and his friend regarding a motorhome. I’m not looking forward to this but it must be done…

    Change is good! I’m all for choosing the path of least resistance. 😉
    I’ve been a big fan of classical music since the 80s, precisely for its calming effect. I find most other music too unsettling. Folk/acoustic is about as different as I get. Interestingly, my cats seem to like classical as well. My last kitty even loved opera! 😻 Those soaring sopranos must have sounded like caterwauling! 😄

      I’ve already added a few classical and jazz stations in the car for Harper and now I’m going to add an opera channel!!🐾😁 I’m enjoying the change and discovering our new favorites!🐾😁

        There is a wide range of opera… I’m not so fond of modern or shrill sopranos, but drawn to tenors and the classics by Bizet, Verdi, Rossini, Puccini and Mozart. When you think of the artists using their voice as an instrument, it is a marvel. The NY Met Opera streams live performances Sat. afternoons on the radio, and some theatres offer certain performances (with subtitles!) at that time, too.

    [I’m having difficulties getting this reply to post] Such an interesting post: methinks the cyclical changes of life we go through explains both the ditching of Nikon and switch to classical, but perhaps I am projecting. As far as music, mine would vary depending on mood, but your Harper is sure not my former feline Wolf. She loved rock, particularly The Who’s Quadrophrenia. Rolling Stones, too. I’m glad so much is working out. (Doesn’t a love of coffee go hand-in-hand with the cold weather?)

      Thank you and I know there have been some issues recently with likes and comments on many blogs. I’m really enjoying all the new interests and music and wondering what other changes are awaiting. Wolf had excellent taste and now I don’t think Harper has enjoyed any of my favorites.🐾🙂

      I’ve listened to classical music occasionally throughout the years, but this time it all feels different. My Apple Music apps are great and it’s been wonderful to learn so much about the music and begin to choose new favorites. I’m now officially addicted to trying every new latte within hours of home.☕️🙂
