Joys Of A Foggy Rainy Day

Who cares about how foggy and rainy a day is as long as you can see good enough to watch a belted kingfisher dive for fish. I love this little bird and even though it wasnโ€™t raining while I took this shot, this is one of the rare birds I would be willing to stand out in the rain watching. The rest of the day was spent learning about classical music with the Portable Professor Masterpieces of Western Music: Classics from the Baroque to the Modern and The Story of Classical: Part 1 on the wonderful Apple Music Classical app. I was almost as excited as watching the kingfisher when I discovered I actually already recognize some of the important classical composers and pieces.

Classical Music of the Day: Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, BWV 1048 I. – Rinaldo Alessandrini & Concerto Italiano

Coffee of the Day: Honcho Coffee Pumpkin Brownie Latte

  2. Looked out the window this morning and saw a small birdie perched on top of our lamp post in much the same way. They do find a way to get the best views in any type of weather.

    1. Perfect perch and fishing spot, but she was not very happy with the ducks down below scaring away the fish.๐Ÿ™‚

    1. During this time of year itโ€™s wonderful to see whoโ€™s stopping by the lake for a visit and weโ€™ve enjoyed seeing the kingfisher, an eagle and migrating ducks.๐Ÿ™‚

  5. First, I must second your opinion on the belted kingfisher. Whenever I hear that chain-rattling cry of theirs, I scan the skies. Second, thanks for that embedded info on the program you’ve been listening to. I’ll have to see if I can find something similar in the non-Apple Music world.

    1. I love whenever I have the chance to see a kingfisher and Iโ€™m hoping our warmer weather will extend its fishing season and visit. Iโ€™ve listened to classical music over the years, but Iโ€™ve never enjoyed it as much before using the Apple Music Classical app. Instead of concentrating only on composers and pieces, Iโ€™m discovering what I enjoy listening to through their playlists and recommendations and before I know it a couple of hours has gone by discovering a new musical world.๐Ÿ™‚
