It was actually a few snow hours and then a slush day and Iβm now a believer in buying a snowman instead of making one (the chickadees agree). Did not take me long to have my first fall of the season, went out to fill the bird feeders and before I knew it I was on the ground in the slippery snow/slush. Sore and numb enough to take two days off from the exercise bike, but the back is feeling better today. It was a much softer landing in the yard than last yearβs spectacular fall on black ice getting out of the truck and bouncing off the running board onto the parking lot, but never dropping Harper. Iβve always viewed myself as athletic and coordinated, but somehow Iβve been going airborne since childhood when I loved sledding on snow days on the biggest hill with the largest jump and then slipping and going airborne on the ice and breaking my collarbone. Each winter Iβm determined that this will be the last time Iβll fall and, once again, that better be the last time I fall.
