Thankful Thursday

Today I’m thankful for this lovely sunrise in my backyard and enjoying my first Starbucks in months. Between medications and severe mouth sores from the chemo, I had a few weeks where it was impossible to eat and my liquid diet was a struggle. I’ve been very thankful each day whenever I can successfully enjoy a meal and while soup remains a favorite, I had no idea for someone who doesn’t like fast foods that a Big Mac could ever taste that good. Not sure at this point if I’m returning to my coffee habit, but I’m also grateful that my first caffeine in months got me to 5,224 steps.

  5. Soup always a winner around here – carrot and ginger, tomato and lentil, etc. Couldn’t believe it, but we made Nigel Slater’s celery soup last week, and it was really good! No, really!
Happy things are heading in the right direction.
