Monday Musings

I promised myself when I was in the hospital missing one of my favorite seasons, winter, that I would never complain about the weather again, especially summer. I’m not going to complain about the two hour thunderstorm Saturday morning or the lightning strike in my driveway.

I’m not going to complain about walking around a Taco Fest in 95 degree heat trying to decide who had the best quesadillas.

I’m not going to complain about an extreme heat warning with tropical dew points that forced us to order a delicious pizza the next day.

I am going to be very thankful that I escaped into air conditioning for the rest of the weekend before I added a taco hat to my collection and Harper wants

you to know she never agreed to this plan of not complaining and she really has something to say about the two hour thunderstorm.

    Poor little Harper! Can’t blame her. And let’s face it: this kind of heat and humidity is miserable. Maine has been hit, too. Thank God for our heat pumps.

      I still can’t believe how much our weather has changed. I was reading an article earlier where people in England are increasingly getting air conditioning because of hot it’s getting there. You’ll be so happy to have the heat pumps this summer.🙂

        Those heat pumps are a wonder! Horribly hot today, but the heat pumps kept the house comfortable.

      I’m still hiding in the air conditioning!! We’ve had a few strange storms lately and thunder so loud that I’ve jumped and Harper looks at me like I thought you said it would be over soon.🐾🙂

    A tasty photo! Two hours? Wow! That tree looks like it took a lightning strike, it will die now. That happened to a pine tree very close to the house when I lived in Lapeer. Scary! I’m glad you are surviving the heat, be careful! 95 degrees there is nothing at all like 95 degrees here with ten percent humidity… 95 feel great here!

    I love a good lightning storm when it’s off in the distance. We saw an amazing one in Florida once. I am less keen on experiencing the heat and humidity that so often precedes them. I’m glad your tree didn’t go up in flames.

      We’ve had wind knock our trees over, but this was the first lightning strike and I might start to lose it with Harper during our storms. We’ve had a few strange storms lately with outrageous downpours and thunder over our house. Hopefully the humidity and storms will let up before the fireworks have her losing her mind again.🐾🙂
