    Lovely photos, ACI; so much beautiful pond growth gracing the water’s surface, and a savvy GBH definitely in control. I’m happy about the new NFL season too.

      I’m glad you enjoyed the photos and I’m definitely ready for some football. The herons I’ve encountered this summer have been very interesting to watch and quite different from each other. The ones I have shown fishing were very active and did not mind the company. This heron has been in the same spot the last three weeks and never attempts to catch fish while I’m there or move very far from her beautiful spot. She grudgingly accepts my presence, but makes it quite clear she prefers her solitude and I should keep paddling.
