  1. Looks like spring has come at last. Lovely photos. Cool reflection on the bird feeder baffle.

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ With our cold weather, I was surprised to see one little flower in the yard yesterday and if it doesn’t warm up soon so we can go outside more, all the backyard visitors are going to believe it’s their yard.πŸ™‚

  4. Lots of wildlife! I wouldn’t be happy to see a woodchuck in my yard – wicked nibblers. πŸ˜‰ Where was the little bat? Do you think it was hibernating or a recent migrant?

    1. It feels like the backyard population has doubled this spring, but thankfully there is only one bat. The bat is tucked into a little opening in the cedar shakes above a window along the deck, which I walk by every day and where he spent last summer. I was hoping he was not planning on spending another summer here, but I watched him arrive during the day recently. I have been trying to determine if it is the two woodchucks living under the deck or the deer that are eating the lilies as soon as they appear.πŸ™‚

      1. I love bats – they eat lots of mosquitoes. But deer and rodents, not so much!

  5. Great shots! With our white birch trees in our backyard by the river, seeing woodchucks or beavers is like seeing burglars! πŸ™‚ I put mesh screen around the base of trees, but some of them have since been removed.

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ I’m always a little nervous having that many animals around because of Gabby, but so far other than eating the lilies and birdseed, we haven’t had any problems with our backyard visitors.

  6. Looks like spring is appearing round there!
Spending just a few more days on the coast before tearing myself away, and I heard a white-crowned sparrow this morning – couldn’t see it, but I heard it!

    1. Brief moments of spring mixed with cold and snow, but the backyard visitors do not seem to notice. Enjoy your last few days on the coast.πŸ™‚
