The Week In Seven Photos

The leaves and attitude were flying this week, with Gabby leading the way. Β She appeared to not appreciate the fact that the driveway and yard had disappeared under a layer of leaves while I had been busy watching more horror movies. Β

I thought I could blame the autumn attitude this week on too much Halloween candy, but Gabby doesn’t eat candy and was more upset about the looming time change and why we don’t believe her that bedtime is now at 6:00 pm since it’s dark outside. Β It’s amazing that a dog can actually give you a dirty look marching off to bed alone. Β Somebody had an attitude when it was requested during our hours of blowing leaves to blow them into the air so I could capture a floating leaf, since I have been unable to capture one of the thousands that have been falling throughout the season.

Amazingly the buck was in a good mood with the wide selection of leaves and maybe he’s a Notre Dame fan and was excited about the first College Football Playoff ranking that has our team in the top four (Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame). Β A great day of college football this Saturday that could already change the rankings with Notre Dame playing Northwestern, Alabama vs. LSU and Penn State against Michigan.

I was surprised how happy I was to see the turkey strutting his stuff across the yard after his absence and

at the blooming attitude of the roses that refuse to accept its November.

One would think the beautiful colors would improve everyone’s attitude, but

when you’re ankle-deep in leaves while your neighbors trees are glowing beautifully, you begin to wonder if that not only does it feel some days that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, but that their leaves are also brighter and never fall.

  1. Seriously irritating about that neighbor’s trees. And little does Gabby know how dark it will get before it starts getting lighter. Good thing. Also, sounds as though she is feeling much better. Really like the blowing leaves you captured.

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ October was the first month this year that Gabby’s health was good and at times she was running through the house like a pup. She is on new medication and food and we’re trying to deal with her increased stress over not being able to hear or see very well. I think she’s using the time change and darkness in a hope that she can get her bedtime snacks earlier.😁

  2. What a great photograph of Gabby! I hope the football works out and there’s time to watch the games in between leaf raking. The turkey is back – dangerous times with Thanksgiving on the horizon…
    Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ I’m excited about the big games and the turkey should hang out at our house through the holidays since I only like the sides and desserts. Enjoy your weekend!πŸ™‚

  3. Such lovely colours – even if they Are mostly on your driveway! πŸ™‚
An entertaining post – I laugh at the dirty dog looks . . . Funny when they are trying to communicate with you that way. Things must be just so! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ The yard is covered again, but I made sure Gabby’s area and the driveway were cleaned up for her.πŸ™‚ Her attitude has been funny lately and I’ll be happy when her internal clock adjusts. In the morning while I’m getting my coffee, she’s going back to bed since it’s so dark outside and early in the evening for the last two weeks she’s been going off to bed alone in a huff.😁

      1. Aw so cute! πŸ˜€ They don’t need to speak to communicate, that’s for sure. LM will shake her head at me when she wants me to hurry up when it’s walk time!
I can just imagine little Gabby trundling off to bed all alone – Play violin music! πŸ˜€

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ We have another batch of beautiful leaves on the ground (except in Gabby’s walking areas) and I may have seen one or two leaves fall in the neighbor’s yard.😁

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ The leaves have really been falling, but we still have beautiful fall colors throughout our area. Gabby’s attitude about the leaves and time change continues.😁
