Monday Musings

After our frost advisories and freeze warnings last week, these might be the last bees I see this year.

It was a great autumn weekend and probably the last one for outdoor dining and chatting about the disappointing losses by the New York Yankees and University of Michigan football team and the new Netflix series, Living With Yourself, starring Paul Rudd.

There’s probably one more week left for cruising before the classic cars are stored away for winter.

Harper had her first close encounter with a squirrel, but thankfully it was a young squirrel and neither one of them knew what to do when they bumped into each other.

It appeared the young troublemakers may have snuck out while the parents were away.

Love those bees – and the old car – and the adorable baby squirrels! πŸ˜€
I’m glad Harper didn’t know what to do with them – yet! πŸ˜€

    1. Thank you!😁 The squirrels had no idea that they should run away when they see a dog or person. One snuck up on us and I think the only reason there wasn’t a problem was because I screamed and scared everyone.😁

  2. Those squirrels are adorable! Soon they will be leaving the nest for good. Clif and I watched “Living with Yourself.” We liked it well enough but thought the ending made no sense at all. Also could have been a lot more suspenseful. After all, those guys at the spa were definitely up to no good. To put it mildly. What did you think?

    1. Thank you!πŸ™‚ I thought the squirrels were adorable when they were on the tree, but had a much different reaction when one wanted to mingle with me and Harper.😁 β€œLiving With Yourself” was one of the fall shows I was looking forward to and thought it was a great idea for a show. This was not the show I expected and I would have quit watching if I had known we were heading to that ending.

      1. Yeah, an interesting premise that fizzled. To me, it would have been more interesting if the two Miles had united to fight the evil clinic. After all…

    1. That was the first time I’ve seen baby squirrels and I had no idea that they would not be afraid of us as one almost walked over my shoes.😁 This happened at my mom’s house and as I was showing her these adorable squirrels she quickly told me we are not feeding them and their mother will be home soon.😁

I guess the ‘fear of humans’ lesson comes later. πŸ˜‰ I once had a baby red squirrel come right up to me and I told it that really wasn’t a great idea to trust strangers if it wanted to see its first birthday, lol!

The bees are scarier than the skeletons, the car is fabulous, but the baby squirrels win the whole thing!

    1. Thank you!😁 I’m always envious of those photographers that capture old abandoned cars next to old barns and was so excited to find this classic car (and a few old pickups) on this backroads detour. There have been no sightings of the adorable squirrels, who I’m sure were grounded after this escapade,😁
